Stewardship

Good stewards of our resources

To build a company that is sustainable, we realize that we must value the health and safety of our many partners while being good stewards of the planet's resources. We use employee observations and engagement to guide our policies, strengthen our operations and create success for our customers, our employees and our vendors.

Safety and Health

Our people come first

At Cyclone, our people are our most important assets. That is why we regularly implement and monitor safety training programs designed to protect not only our employees, but also our customers, our third party contractors and visitors to our rigs and facilities. This commitment to safety is reflected in a company Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) that is among the industry's best and continues to decline as we strive to make recurring incidents and injuries a thing of the past.

Accountability

Do what you say

Cyclone operates on a simple principle that is at the core of our operating philosophy: "Do what you say." When we make a commitment to our customers, our employees and our vendors, we keep it. When we say we will deliver a cost efficient well, we do. When we say we will provide a safe environment in our facilities and on our rigs, we do. When we say you can trust us, you know you can.

That doesn't mean we never make mistakes. But when we make them we don't hide them, we learn from them. As a result, we rarely make the same mistake twice. And you can hold us accountable for that.

Employee / Customer Relationships

Do right and make a friend

Building relationships and earning mutual trust are central to Cyclone's operating philosophy. We welcome new people into the company with openness and respect, including those whose past might disqualify them from other organizations. We believe in giving respect to get respect, in the process building strong bonds that extend beyond the workplace. A simple principle guides many of our decisions: do right and make a friend.

Environmental

We live here too

Cyclone Drilling is headquartered in a state that appreciates air and water quality. It's a state filled with wildlife and with hunters and fishermen who want to protect that natural environment. That's why we are taking the steps necessary to reduce diesel consumption and lower emissions. We are also taking the precautions necessary to insure that our drilling projects are conducted with care and precision so that the surrounding land, water and air are quickly returned to pre-drilling conditions. After all, we live here too.

Civic Responsibility

Investing in our communities

At Cyclone, we believe that every company should invest in the communities in which they conduct business. In that spirit we invested in construction of the local American Legion baseball field and in the construction of the basketball arena at the community college in Gillette. Cyclone also supports the Center of Hope for at-risk youth in the area and the John Paul II Catholic School. Company employees are also encouraged to support local charities of their choice.
