1975
The founding of Cyclone Drilling is an American success story, the kind that makes people think anything is possible in the United States. James Hladky left his job as a driller for a local Wyoming drilling contractor intent on starting his own drilling contractor business. He was joined by friend and former co-worker Don Delamonte. They pooled their life savings, rounded up a few investors, purchased an old drilling rig and formed Cyclone Drilling. Before long they landed a contract with Hunt Oil and the company was off and running. One contract led to another and over time they accrued a fleet of mechanical rigs, which they replaced with SCR rigs, which they replaced with AC Electric rigs. Today Cyclone has a reputation for high spec rigs manned by experienced rig hands who are committed to safety, integrity and performance.
An experienced and talented management team.
